Isn't it cool to be transformed into a fat pooch that shoots fireballs from his mouth?
It may be overbearingly cute but Prikura Daisakusen is one of the best games on the SegaSaturn. It's a shoot-'em-up where you control large characters across isometric maps. There are three characters to choose from, including Princess Kurara from the Power Instinct as well as Groove On Fight fighting games, and all of them have different forms of firepower and melee attacks. You can attack in any direction and when the enemies are destroyed using your long range shots, they turn into small animals that you can collect for points. The right way to score big in this game though is the proper use of your melee attacks - destroying enemies in such fashion will make the enemies explode which then destroy any nearby enemies in the vicinity, creating an impressive chain effect especially when the screen is filled with baddies. They will then drop gems that increase in value and size depending on how long the explosive chains are sustained. You also have an "option" or an additional helper following your character around that can grow up into different creatures stage by stage based on your performance and play style. The game comes with a pretty little 1997 calendar - this game is just an overwhelming mess of cuteness, isn't it? I have uploaded a Youtube clip of the calendar: please click here to proceed with your guilty pleasure.
