Games to Revisit: A 10K Library Reflection

I have 10,000+ titles in my Game Library. That's a lot of games. Now, I have always been honest about them: I get distracted a lot thus, there are many titles that I have not played enough of to see all that they have to offer. I have always made sure that for the consoles, especially, every time I get a new game, it is routine for me to play them at least once. Things are a little harder with Personal Computer games these days because when I get them in bulk, sometimes I would miss installing and booting up a number of them. I want to be better about this of course because my games deserve better - and I do too.

The console era is pretty much over and gone but there is much to celebrate from its illustrious past.

GameCube: Skin or Not?

While unpacking today, yes - when you have too much gaming stuff, it takes a very long time to sort through them, I found a GameCube custom skin that I received for reserving a copy of Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness a long, long time ago. At this point in my life, is there a reason for me to hold on to this skin and keep it in its confinement anymore? I may risk misplacing the skin in the future as well because to be honest, I have totally forgotten that I even have this in my collection. Then again, is it really necessary for me to ruin the classic Nintendo GameCube look? What a delicious dilemma.

It's not the prettiest of skins but I am sure Pokémon fans would eat this up.

May 12th Induction Anniversary

Naruto: Gekito Ninja Taisen! (2002)
12 Years in the Game Library
Induction Date: 05/12/2003

Hell hath no fury...

Ah, my very first Naruto game. Bear in mind that I didn't even know who this Naruto dude was when I first got this game. I knew the game was anime-based and looking at the cover art, I thought it was about some American or European kid who got left behind and then kidnapped when he was a baby by a Japanese ninja clan. What attracted me to this game was the cell-shaded graphics style and the cool looking ninja moves. And I always love the cute Japanese GameCube slipcases so I would justify getting Japanese releases just because of that: It didn't become a habit for me thankfully because I ended up getting just 12 Japanese imports for the system. The fighting mechanics ended up being too basic and repetitive while the cast of characters is just way too small. This game ended up being featured in my Doppelganger Games article because it was savagely milked until blood squirted out with 4 sequels in total.
