When Steam implemented its own screenshot capture feature in February of this year, it was only a matter of time before they would provide some sort of video capture feature for the client. Well that time is now - kind of. It looks like Valve went cheap on us this time around because you can only post your YouTube videos on Steam, thus you have to link up the two accounts together via a registration process within the Steam client. This means that you still have to find your own capture device (Fraps is still the best out there) and you would also need to upload the videos you want to display on Steam onto YouTube first before featuring them on the new video page. This whole setup is somewhat disappointing because you can always post your YouTube link on your main profile and your friends can just visit YouTube directly to view all of your videos.
Would have been great if this was powered exclusively by Valve.
