RANDOM GAME OF THE DAY:
Sega Rally Championship (1995)
Developer: Sega
Platform: SegaSaturn
Purchase Date: 02/03/1996
It's one of the best looking SegaSaturn games.
After the terrible disappointment from the very poor Daytona USA port, Sega Rally Championship's arrival to the console was a real blessing to SegaSaturn owners, even though graphically, it was still very rough compared the the arcade original. But what is great about the game is that the frame rate is stable and the control is very responsive. SRC was the first racing game that encouraged me to fine tune my vehicle settings and utilize the manual transmission option to race with. The latter is actually a must to really excel in the game and I realized that after a long period of frustrations using the manual transmission. To this date, I still feel that the game is one of the best arcade racer ever. There are not a lot of extras found in the port and you are left with only a small number brilliantly designed race tracks but the game is really about perfecting your performance on each of them.
