RANDOM GAME OF THE DAY:

Aero Dancing featuring Blue Impulse (1999)
Developer: CSK Research Institute
Platform: Sega Dreamcast
Purchase Date: 02/18/2000

This game's unrelenting difficulty will make you appreciate aerobatic performances even more.

Aero Dancing is one serious flight simulator. The main game is the "Blue Impulse Mission" where you practice the basics of flying and then later, perform the death-defying stunts that are based on the real aerobatic team that the game is inspired by. Some of these truly amazing stunts require absolute precision because they are team-based maneuvers where one slight mistake could mean the death of the entire squadron. During the replay, you can choose the "spectator" view of the action - it's a fun, thoughtful way to gloat and admire your accomplishments. For those who are looking for a more relaxing flight, there are the "Sky Mission Attack" mode, where you have to fly through different target rings in the sky, and the self-explanatory "Free Flight" mode. The aeroplane models used to look quite sophisticated back when this first came out. It's now easy to see how simply constructed they actually are and I was able to spot a number of texture problems when it comes to the landscapes below.
