It's a lot of fun and I am seriously considering buying this game eventually.

RANDOM GAME OF THE DAY:

Sengoku Blaede (1996)
Developer: Psikyo
Platform: SegaSaturn
Purchase Date: 08/29/2002

The game has some of the best bosses in the history of Psikyo games.

This is my favorite Psikyo shooter because of the medieval samurai-era characters and settings fused with imaginative post-industrial machinations. It plays similar to other Psikyo shooters - weapon variations based on characters chosen, power-ups, charge attacks, bomb attacks - but it is one of the few horizontally scrolling shoot-em-ups done by them. It's what the casual observers would normally call a "bullet-hell" game (more like bullet-heaven depending on your perspective) and it is undoubtedly very difficult. There's hardly any room for error but just like any other hardcore shooter, if you watch the bullet patterns closely, there is always a method to all the madness. The game comes with a fun "Digital Edition" bonus disc that contains professional and fan-submitted artwork. There is a section of the disc where the winners of the best submissions are announced by the characters of the game - it's very funny and it is apparent that a lot of love was put into the production of the material.
