RANDOM GAME OF THE DAY:

BloodRayne (2002)
Developer: Terminal Reality
Platform: X-Box
Purchase Date: 02/28/2003

Taking a stroll across telephone lines under the light of a full moon. Romantic for vampires.

If you are a fan of vampires, than rampart sexuality and stylish bloodletting are your thing. Both are delivered in full force in BloodRayne, a game about a half-human, half-vampire (aren't they the best type of vampires ever?) who works for a society that protects humanity from supernatural evil. Add the rustic pre-modern elements of post World War I settings as well as tons of Nazis and other ghastly creatures to suck on and dismember and you get yourself a nice little game. The great thing about BloodRayne is it knows what it sets out to do, even though the act of doing those things are somewhat repetitive and shallow. It takes itself very seriously as a fun third person action adventure that is filled with enough bloodbaths and cheesy storyline to keep you moving until the end. Don't forget that the game inspired the Uwe Boll movie of the same name (one of his more watchable films) that features Ben Kingsley's corny performance as a vampire. A must see!
