RANDOM GAME OF THE DAY:

Street Fighter: Real Battle on Film (1995)
Developer: Capcom Co., Ltd.
Platform: SegaSaturn
Purchase Date: 1995

Whose bright idea was it to include Sawada in this game? Go get him Honda!

Yes, one of the darkest chapters in the history of Street Fighter is the release of this scary little game. Granted, it plays really well and the basic fighting mechanics from the series made it to the game unscathed. The reason why the gameplay feels so stiff though is because of the badly digitized actors and their low frames of animation, making it hard to time moves because everything just looks so awkward after we have been spoiled by playing the earlier iterations of Street Fighter II. It's fun to play this game for a laugh or two and you have to give it to Capcom for trying to make the mostly flat, military-themed backdrops look somewhat interesting. Unfortunately, there are some lengthy loading time between the matches, a major hindrance to the overall enjoyment of this cheesy game. I do long for the day when the industry has perfected the technology of digitized real actors in video games - maybe this is a plight that the Mortal Kombat creators need to pursue?
