RANDOM GAME OF THE DAY:
Phantom Dust (2005)
Developer: Microsoft Game Studios Japan
Platform: X-Box
Purchase Date: 03/04/2005
The death-matches here don't require big guns and a lazy first person perspective.
They just require you to think and strategize.
This is a surprising action game from Microsoft because it was developed by their internal studio in Japan and made to cater to a smaller hardcore audience due to its strategic skill-edit mechanics. As a matter of fact, if not for Majesco publishing the game here, Microsoft would probably never release this in the United States - they view their customers as first person shooter whores. The graphics are very detailed with a lot of pretty particles and destructive environments. Skills used for offense and defense must be replenished from the battlefield and only 4 can be equipped at one time, creating intense but intelligent battles. With over 300 skills to collect, interesting combinations to experiment with, and a robust online mode, this a must buy especially the fact that it can be played on the 360.
