War of the Monster is similar to Incognito's Twisted Metal series - it's a versus battle game with huge, destructive environments and scattered power ups only this time, you are controlling massive creatures instead of evil looking vehicles and their demented drivers. The game uses a lot of references to the classic 50's sci-fi movies in its presentation - like the cheesy movie posters for each monster during the loading screen. An all out 4 player brawl would have been much welcomed here since the game is only limited to 2 player max. The monsters are not too unique nor are they memorable but it is always fun to stomp on the puny humans running around the battlefield in the state of total panic.
