RANDOM GAME OF THE DAY:

Power Stone (1999)
Developer: Capcom Co., Ltd.
Platform: Sega Dreamcast
Purchase Date: 09/14/1999

Looks like we are having BBQ Ayami for dinner tonight.

Power Stone is a fun 1-on-1 3D fighting game but the gameplay is pretty basic. All the fighters have pretty much the same basic moves until they transform into their ultimate forms by collecting three power stones scattered across the battlefield. There are a lot of other dangerous objects and weapons that the fighters can pick up and use against each other, creating a fast paced and manic battles. There are only 8 fighters in the game but they are each very attractive and unique. The game does contain one of my favorite video game music ever found in Galuda's stage. Power Stone gets repetitive rather quickly but Capcom was smart enough to find the remedy to this game's limitations when they release its sequel a year later by introducing the 4-player battle royale design.

LIBRARY STATUS: 3 out of 5
