Spamming certain super moves in the game will always lead to a victory.
Just like McFarlane's Evil Prophecy, this game is another impulse buy but thankfully with no dire consequences. It's a cross between Super Smash Bros. and Power Stone but it's definitely inferior compared to either game. There are a variety of weapons to pick up during the battles from but equipping your character with their preferred weapon will unlock that character's super move. There are also these magical stones that you can collect and they provide many different enhancements to your characters. Up to 4 playes can play the game and it could have been much more fun online. Besides the super move mentioned previously, all the characters are carbon copies of each other in terms of the controls and their fighting style. By the way, I have never watched the anime that this game is based on. There is a story mode in the game and though the basic premise is simple enough to understand, the scenarios are as convoluted as one might expect from a game made specifically for rabid fans of the source material. The attraction that lead to my immediate purchase when I first saw the game was the cool and colorful box art as well as, yet again, having Konami's name associated with the product. The game could have been better if it had more characters - there are 17 in all. That shouldn't have been a difficult task for them since these characters all play generically anyway.
LIBRARY STATUS: 3 out of 5
