Tales of Symphonia is no doubt a great role playing game that is only short of being a classic. The game tells a story of a "Chosen One" and her entourage traveling across lands to ensure the regeneration of their dying world. The basic premise is badly cliched at that eye-rolling level but the game surprisingly matures into a sad tale of sacrifice and discrimination. What have helped this tremendously are the clever scripts between the characters and the "Skit Titles" that could pop up at any time during the adventure. These conversations are not merely afterthoughts - they are the real drives to the story. I just recently picked up Symphonia's sequel and I can't wait to see what happened to the characters I have known and loved from this game.
