Review: Pelican Charge Station

Pelican Charge Station (2007)
Platform: PlayStation 3
Induction Date: 04/30/2008

This Pelican Charge Station is one sexy device. It is an exquisite peripheral that is thoughtful in both its form and function. Not only does it charge efficiently with a full charge taking about 2 and a half hours, it also becomes a great place to store and display 2 of your controllers. There are two USB inputs on its right side that can be connected to two more controllers. Doing so makes the charger look clumsy because of the USB wires coming out of it but it is nice to have the option to do so away from the console. To top off the sleek avant garde look, the docks light up red when charging and green when the process is complete. Pelican have designed some truly ugly hardware, particularly their controllers, but this charger is able to perfectly capture the design philosophy of the PlayStation 3 with its cascading concaves look and its matching color scheme. They did a great job with this one, even the packaging looks highly professional and has that cool Sony-brand feel to it complete with an "homage" to the Blu-ray logo! Definitely a must buy for all PlayStation 3 owners.

RATING: 5 out of 5
