There is only one reason why anyone would buy a game from the Dynasty Warriors series: non-stop action. Many would call the action found in these games repetitious and there is a truth to that perception. Not being a part of that crowd, here I am with a copy of number 6. I am just one of those people who love seeing the K.O. counter goes up as I battle through the almost unlimited number of enemy soldiers sent my way.
Dedicated fans should be pleased to know that the graphics have been bumped up and everything looks very pretty. Unfortunately, the pop-up problem is still there especially with the character models instead of the surrounding environment. Often times you will stumble into a group of enemies that suddenly appears right in front of you.
Other than the visual upgrades, everything else remains relatively the same as the previous DW: Select one of the historical chinese warriors, pick a mission, kill hordes of enemies in a huge battlefield, then repeat. Character development is managed via a skill tree, which is quite exciting because of its RPG-ish nature. Perhaps unlimited armor customizations in number 7? I sure hope so. That and the ability to play co-op online.
FIRST IMPRESSION: 4 out of 5
