Game Room Overkill?

Is there even such a thing? Game Room Ver. 4.1 is almost complete - I better just finish it in case I have to close it all down - and what better way to add to the finishing touches than to place a 34" LG ultra-widescreen, curved monitor on my gaming table, right? As if the room is not already crowded enough?!

It's hooked up to my streaming Personal Computer and functions primarily to monitor OBS.

Trimming the Fat: Genshin Slimpact

My Game Library is huge, and it will continue to get bigger as we go. So, is there a good reason to keep a free-to-play game like Genshin Impact in my roster of games to play? Let me just start off by saying that GI is a pretty good game. It's pretty, it's silly, and it's a time sink. It's also the only ftp game that I would consider to be an essential install. Well, Heroes of the Storm is the other one, but that game is so good that I don't even see it as a ftp title because it's worth its gigabyte in gold. You don't see me running to boot up GI when I'm struggling to choose a game to play now, do you?

This is for the best. I'll just watch a stream on twitch.tv if I want to see the game in action.

Speeding Towards 10K

It is kind of scary, but it is also kind of exciting. I am inching closer and closer to hitting the 10,000 titles mark for my Game Library. That is 10,000 games at my fingertips. Seems like too much power for a gamer to wield. But is it really power? Or a curse? I know that to some segment of the gamer population, this seems to be a bad thing. As I have encountered too many times, the knowledge about my library size usually sends some people to some sort of frenzy where they immediately go on the defensive, as if I was trying to compare my dick size to theirs. But of course, I have been welcomed with a more positive, friendly reaction. Look, I am not actively trying to get my library bursting at the seams. It just kind of happen. I am a full-fledged gamer. I like playing games and I like getting them. Both of those things make me happy in this life and I am going to participate in them unapologetically. The nastier reactions take me back to the olden days when video gaming was at its infancy. Gamers were perceived as weirdos back then by the normies, and the last thing I wanted is to have gamers themselves make me feel that way again.

The physical display of games remains mostly the same thanks to the digital age of gaming.

Living in the Moment as a Gamer

My recent Game Room revival project has lifted me up emotionally so 2023 is off to a good start. At the start of this process, I could barely move around the room because I had to unstack the many large boxes and placed them individually on the floor to access their contents. I am getting closer and closer to regaining my virtual reality space after clearing the area as I continue to empty these boxes. In terms of actually playing my video games, that has been quite satisfying and productive too.

It's good to be able to stop and smell the hedgehogs again.

I Want a Good Start to 2023

I have been working hard to complete my maybe temporary Game Room, but it has been a struggle. The real problem here for me is that I wanted to cram everything into this space yet, I can already see that it's not possible to do that. My physical Personal Computer boxes will not be able to make it. I cannot prioritize their placement in the Game Room since they would occupy too much space being the biggest, bulkiest form of physical game packaging to ever exist. This means that they will stay boxed and stored somewhere else in the house, which is certainly not preferable to me.

I want the ultimate Game Room, even for a brief moment in my life.

Hot Twitch Career 2023: Channel Manager?

It only makes sense. Who doesn't want to make easy money? We can tell each other all about our dream careers or professional aspirations but at the end of the day, doing less work but getting more money will always triumph everything. This is perhaps the allure of pursuing the path of an "influencer" on social media, like Twitch. I mean, who wouldn't want to be able to just sit and play video games while racking in thousands of dollars each month even if just pretend to enjoy the process or gaming in itself. Alas! Being a financially successful Twitch streamer is not easy. So perhaps, we need to aim a tad lower and find a more, uh, creative approach to funneling that sweet Twitch money our way by becoming... the manager of Twitch streamers?

He follows your channel at the start of your stream, and he does it all! Why wouldn't you hire him?
