Okay, Epic Games need to get their act together because I am noticing a horrible trend with their weekly free games offer. They have provided us free-to-play incentive packages before but the frequency of this is increasing. Just look at what they have on the menu for this week and next week:
It seems like Epic is getting hijacked by free-to-play developers as they take over the spots of what could be better real game offerings instead of stuff that adds to free-to-play titles that are designed to encourage you to try out the game and if you are addicted, well, the best of luck to you with your spending! Now you know your guy the Loner Gamer doesn't have Steamoroid. I love Epic Games as much as Steam but this is a slippery slope. Epic has been doing such a great job with their free game line-up, cementing their status as a game client service provider that cares about providing us with things of real value. It's okay to give out just one free game instead of coupling it with the free-to-play baits. Sure, most of the games that I get free from them are games that I already have on Steam anyway but it's about presenting yourself in the best possible light. In a world full of Steamoroid patients, as often showcased by the nonsensical Steam reviews of games whose developers decided to earn better income by adopting Epic Games' timed exclusivity, Epic should always avoid fatal trappings that can make them look legitimately bad - like supposedly scheming to get people to install free-to-play games on a weekly basis. Well, Steamoroid patients are unsavable anyway as their brains are way too rotted since they manage to get to that point unfortunately but Epic, please: some of us do care about what you do. Restore the integrity of your weekly free games offerings!
