PlayStation Rewards T-Shirt

When the ill-fated PlayStation Rewards beta ended, participants were promised a t-shirt if they made it to at least the "Select" tier and mine finally came today. It is obvious that this 100% cotton black t-shirt is cheaply made and even though the thank you note that came with it ordered me to "Wear It Proud", there is really nothing about the t-shirt that screams out loud that you have participated in something particularly special. The front feature the word "PlayStation" in Japanese and the left sleeve has the PlayStation logo. That's it. Will I be wearing it to go out to the clubs? No, but I will definitely be rocking it when I go to my favorite electronics store I suppose. To showcase the t-shirt for your pleasure, I have hired the very current and hot male supermodel El-Gee to set your eyes on fire! Yes, you will definitely be wanting this t-shirt now.

Preparing for the PC SSFIV:AE

I have decided to sell my copy of Super Street Fighter IV for the X-Box 360 because I am going to just pick up the Personal Computer version of the Arcade Edition of the game when it is finally released in a couple of months. I have decided against just upgrading the game on the 360 via the downloadable content because I no longer have LIVE Gold and at this point, I really don't think that I will ever reactivate it. SSFIV on the 360 does look mighty impressive but it still doesn't hold a candle compared to the clarity and detail of the original SFIV that I do still have for my PC but that is just a secondary factor for me in this case. I still wish that Capcom would just allow PC owners to upgrade the original SFIV to the Arcade Edition - Since the PC version of this upcoming revision hasn't been given a specific release date yet, who knows, maybe Capcom may change their mind and just allow the upgrade in that fashion. By the way, SSFIV is still incredibly popular because I was able to find a local buyer for it rather quickly.

Do I expect more SFIV updates in the future? Yes, this series is going to be milked to death but

I don't think Capcom can get away with not allowing people to just get them via DLCs from now on.

Playing in the Dirt

Ever since I got the game last year, I have been incredibly slow when it comes to my progress in playing Dirt 2 for the Personal Computer. Things have been beginning to pick up for me though as I found myself coming to the game again and again over these past couple of days. How could I have abandoned a game so beautiful to behold and incredibly engaging to control? I have finally unlocked the final two areas of the game - but still not all of the available tracks - and I must say that I was impressed with the visuals of the first race set in Utah:

You can see all the way into the distance and you eventually drive between those two mesas!

When it comes to racing games, I am always a big fan of long view distances and the incredible sense of space on this track is simply remarkable. It's amazing what those people at Codemasters can do to make what could have been a barren place so alive and exciting. And this game was made when? In 2009? It is definitely still one of the best looking games I have ever seen. I am so glad to be back playing Dirt 2 and I can see myself trying to unlock all the contents found in the game. I am also still playing the game at "Casual" difficulty, which is not very challenging anymore, so I am ready to tackle the harder settings and see if I can master them. Even with Dirt 3 coming out late this month, I think I will still be happy with just playing this one for a while.

The Video Game Poster Infection Spreads

I found several more video game posters as I was organizing the storage space for my archive of video gaming magazines. These findings were a little bit surprising to me because I thought that I already went through all of these publications before when I was decorating my Game Room walls quite a while back. So I went on a rampage this morning with posting the posters up and here are the results:
