This feature will appear whenever I encounter a startling, memorable character in the games that I play. The characters don't have to bear any significant impact on the games as long as they are able to make a positive and/or a negative impression on me. Also, bear in mind that I have never been a fan of spoilers so those things will be kept to a minimum. Enjoy!
Essa, oh, Essa. It's obvious that she knew that her number was up, and she wanted one final hurrah before the bitter end. Tyranny is a pretty brutal game, unlike you happen to be a goody two shoes - I don't understand why anyone would be in Tyranny because to be able to play such a villainous character is a definite rarity in the gaming world though the fact that there is actually an option to choose that path says a lot about the brilliance of Obsidian Entertainment. So, I arrived at her little cottage in the hope of finding someone to assassinate - that person just happened to be her daughter - only to find out that the target was already dead. Then Essa learned that her other daughter was dead too and she began to uh, malfunction? She started talking complete smack about Kyros, the supreme ruler and conqueror of these troubled lands, who just happen to be your boss, and concluded her verbal diarrhea with a certainly most insulting zinger. A decision then had to be made: will she be punished or has she been punished enough with her daughters' deaths? Well, I couldn't allow such shocking insult to be forgiven so she ended up dead. The thing though about this particular killing is that Essa was able to make the whole thing so damn funny. I was laughing as I ended her life. It was obvious that she felt like she didn't have any more reason to live, and it was also obvious that she was so grief-stricken that she just wanted to end it all so instead of delivering justice, it ended up being somewhat of a mercy killing? Live or die, both options would be equally horrible for her - everything is just bleak to those who gets themselves caught in the conflict in this game - but she certainly left her mark in this Fatebinder's psyche in a sea of horrible (yet just?) applications of Kyros' will.
