RANDOM GAME OF THE DAY:

Virtua Cop (1995)
Developer: Sega
Platform: SegaSaturn
Purchase Date: 1995

The psychic power that the cops have in the game is never truly explained...

The funny thing about this game is that I have never played it with the console's "Virtua Gun". So, I never really get the proper experience of playing it - maybe I'll buy the gun one of these days or perhaps there's going to be a Nintendo Wii port soon? Using the Saturn controller was strangely playable but it took me a lot of hours to memorize the enemy layouts to compensate for the lack of precision and speed. Just like many old games from the past, the game can be completed in one sitting but it's always fun to replay the game over and over again. The action never lets up and there's always something happening on screen. The boss battles are quite fun too. This is the most polished and balanced light gun shooter Sega has ever made. Unfortunately, it just can't compete with The House of the Dead series. It can't be helped: zombies will always be more popular than a group of thugs.
